Zig recently teamed up with Darien Lifestyle Magazine as well as two of our most coveted home town pillars, The Goose American Bistro & Bar and The Darien Toy Box to spread the word and live out our Company's mission!
As passionate as we are at Captain Zig about creating a beer that everyone knows, loves and always has stocked in their fridge (😛😝), our main mission is to give back to the superheroes in our community. Those superheroes that are looking to better the lives of others around them as well as those who face their own personal challenges. Our wish came true when we recently donated a portion of the sales from our most recent batch of Goosecake IPA to Yale New Haven's Pediatric Cancer Hospital (Smillow Treatment Center) this month!
It all started with a photoshoot at our treasured Goose Bistro & Bar in town. After the Goose generously matched Zig's donation for Smillow, we then teamed up with Bill at The Darien Toy Box to purchase toys for the pediatric cancer patients that are currently being treated at YNH’s Smillow Pediatric Cancer Center in Connecticut. The Toy Box very kindly offered us a discount on our purchase and also donated a special bag of toys to add to our delivery! The purpose of this toy donation is to grant a bit of joy to some of the pediatric cancer patients. We hope these bits of joy bring strength to the superhero patients, as well as their caregivers that also wear the superhero capes every single day.
The feature on Captain Zig Brewing Co. in Darien Lifestyle Magazine was dropped last week! We are so honored and excited to be a part of this ever growing and strong community.
